Gertie's Ride
Gertie's Ride

Gertie's Ride is a family. Gertie's has had many faces come through the band to finally find the the guys that we have now and  have made the commitment to pursue the professional party. We play for many events of different interest. We are working on our own material at the moment. We are gigging a lot to fund the project. We do benefits and private parties and the occasional bars. We appreciate all the support that all of you have given us since 2004. We have traveled to Salem and Crown Point IN. We are looking forward to other places out of our zip code. We are a variety band that plays Elvis, Stray Cats, Alice In Chains, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Buckcherry. We enjoy playing and listening to metal, rock and Outlaw Country. We have had the same line up since the beginning of 2007. We played well over 40 shows in 2006 and 2007, over 50 in 2008 and 2009. Well over 40 for 2010. We have had a lot of support from our fellow musicians such as,Jamie Burch "Sly Baghouse" (drummer),Aaron Shelton (drummer),  Andy Karle (Copper Canyon) Paul Graham (Panama Road), Stephanie Pool (Midnight Rush), Ryan Clark, Nickee Jeffries and Star Smith. The original Metalneck line-up Craig Summers (drummer) and Marcus Mundy (guitar) and without any of them we would not be as popular and professional as we are today.
Thank all of  you Gertie Lovers!

About Us

D. Jessie/Bass & Vocals,
I began playing bass in an organized band in July 2003. My first paid gig was January 30, 2004; it was for a family member's birthday party and ever since we have celebrated our friend's B-Days the last weekend of January. It was pretty cool; the bar kicked everyone out before 1am because they were out of beer. I enjoy playing and listening to metal, rock and Outlaw Country. We were Metalneck from June 2004 to August 2005.  In August 2005 I changed the name to Gertie's Ride. We have different members since then but they have been the same since the beginning of 2007. We have played well over 40 shows in 2006 and over 40 in 2007. Over 50 for 2008. 2009 we played another 50. Now in 2010 was another 50 shows. 2011, we have slowed down a bit. Less amount of venues, we are busy with our families. We are doing more specialty shows now. The HunXXX has gained some momentum and allows us to play our originals. We have had a lot of support from fellow musicians from around the area and without them we would not be as busy as we are today.  Our fans party harder than anyone we know.
Now Gertie's Ride is made up of a few of my personal favorite local musicians.
KenTon/Guitar& Vocals,
KenTon puts on a show all by himself. I seen him the first time in 2001 long before I could play a whole song, well he let me up anyway and play. Neither one of us are scared of much.
Kenton has been playing for more than 20 years. KenTon can play and sing anything from Elvis Presley to Jet. His last unit was "Midnight Rush" from Darlington IN. They were a guaranteed party wherever they played. They were a hard working band between harvest seasons then they took a break in the fields.
Gooch/Guitar& Vocals
Gooch, where do I start? Gooch has a presence much like KenTon. He can be the only guy on stage and still rock the house. His voice is huge. His guitar playing and singing covers from Waylon Jennings to Dave Mustaine.
Gooch all 6'6" of six string and vocal power. He can emulate a lot of great singers and also has the ability to pull off his originals to satisfy and gratify. Gooch is also lead singer in The HunXXX are alter ego original band.
Sly Baghouse (Jamie Burch of Jamestown) Drummer & Vocals
Sly is a human metranome. He loves music and it shows in his devotion to know all parts of the songs. The guitar and vocals. He sings a few songs as well. He is also the drummer for The HunXXX.
